World’s number 5 and the WTA Finals finalist Aryna Sabalenka is the second seed o the tournament. Sabalenka lost against Swiatek in the semi-final of the US Open.
World’s number 8 Daria Kasatkina is the third seed in the tournament. She played in the Guadalajara Open in the most recent tournament and reached the Round of 16. The player won the Granby National Bank Championship this year.
