The new tennis season is starting, and so does the new challenge for the 21 times grand slam winner Novak Djokovic. His arch-rival, Rafael Nadal still has one grand slam in front of him, and he will surely be starting the season with a view to winning his Twenty Second grand slam.
As the new year is coming, Djokovic has made a change in his physio team, as he replaced his current physio Ulises Badio with Claudio Zimaglia. Ulises Badio had been with Djokovic since 2017. It’s heard that Djokovic and Badio couldn’t reach an agreement about their future collaboration.
Ulises Badio has given Djokovic very good service while the Serb got injured in 2017 and 2021. During his Elbowinjury in 2017, Ulises Badio’s treatment help him to recover way faster than usual. But, he will be departing and Zimaglia will be taking his place.
Claudio Zimaglia has a huge experience with tennis physiotherapy and is also a teacher of osteopathy. Previously, he worked with Milos Raonic and Jannik Sinner. Most recently, he was the physician of Brandon Nakashima. Claudio has also a book on sports physiotherapy by his name, “Sports Massage: And Complementary Techniques”.
Djokovic has mainly brought changes in his team focusing on the Australian open. Miljan Amanovic, who currently stays at his tennis center has also agreed to travel with the Serb for a certain period of time. Let’s see, if these changes help him to get his 22nd grand slam or not.
