As a result of Jurgen Klopp’s red card during Liverpool’s 1-0 victory against Manchester City on October 16, the Football Association has decided to penalize the Liverpool manager £30,000. The game was won by Liverpool by the score of 1-0.
Klopp was fired after manager was overheard criticizing an assistance referee after a tackle on Mohamed Salah did not result in a foul being called.
In his post-game statements, the German expressed regret for his behavior and asked for forgiveness.
The FA said that Jurgen Klopp had broken rule E3, which prohibits “words that are inappropriate, which bring the game into disgrace, which are threatening, abusive, indecent, or insulting.” Klopp had been charged with a violation of this regulation.
According to the FA, he acknowledged that his behavior “was wrong,” and they said that “an impartial Regulatory Commission issued his sentence during a hearing.” It is possible for Liverpool to contest the punishment.
