The forward for Manchester United During Manchester United’s victory against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Wednesday, Cristiano Ronaldo departed Old Trafford before the game was done.
In the 89th minute, he got up from the bench and went down the tunnel after being an unused substitution in the win by a score of 2-0. It is often believed that Ronaldo spent a short amount of time in the locker room before leaving the stadium.
After the game, Erik ten Hag, the team’s manager, said that he will “deal with” the matter on Thursday.
Shortly after Ten Hag had Christian Eriksen and Anthony Elanga come off the bench, Ronaldo was brought into the game for United, at which point United had only used three of the five substitutes that were available to them.
Ronaldo displayed his annoyance after being taken out of Sunday’s match against Newcastle at home, which ended in a scoreless draw.
After the game, Ten Hag said that he had “no issue” with Ronaldo’s response but that the player needed to persuade him that “he needs to remain on.” Ronaldo’s reaction was a red card.
Gary Lineker, a former striker for England, said that Ronaldo’s behavior diverted attention away from the great performance that United had against Spurs.
