In what seems like the blink of an eye, the first LIV Golf season is about to wrap up. This week’s 2022 LIV Golf Miami takes a different form than previous LIV Golf events since it represents the culmination of the first season at Trump National Doral in Florida. Now that Dustin Johnson has clinched the solo championship, attention can turn to the teams.

Teams from across the world will compete for a $50 million prize over the course of three days at Miami’s LIV Golf Team Championship.
As the top-seeded team, Johnson’s 4 Aces GC will skip the first round of the playoffs on Friday. The second through fourth-seeded teams (Crushers GC, Fireballs GC, and Stinger GC) will also be resting on Friday as the fifth through twelfth-seeded teams compete for two spots in Saturday’s quarterfinals.
After claiming victory at LIV Golf Jeddah, four-time major winner Brooks Koepka will take his top-ranked Smash GC squad to the Team Championship. The higher seeds, including Koepka, were able to select their opponents for the quarterfinals and semi-finals, ensuring that he had his choice of opponents.
The teams’ captains will compete against each other in a one-on-one contest. Each team’s remaining three players will play either another round of singles or a round of fours. Only the team with the most points at the end of the day will go on to the next round.
Majesticks GC, in example, has already changed its captain, so there is some strategy involved. Ian Poulter, a mainstay of the European Ryder Cup team, will captain the Majesticks and play in a singles match at the Team Championship, a role that has traditionally gone to Lee Westwood. Adrian Otaegui, the most recent winner of the DP World Tour, has joined Joaquin Niemann’s Torque GC, while Hennie du Plessis has returned to the South African squad Stinger GC.
On the final day, the top four teams will play a round of traditional stroke play. In the first LIV Golf Team Championship, each player’s score will count toward their team’s total and the winning team will be awarded the trophy.
When is 2022 LIV Golf Miami?

- Tee time: 12:15 p.m. ET
This LIV Golf tournament will take place from October 28 through October 30, and the tee time is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. Eastern Time (17:15 p.m. BST). In contrast to more conventional golf competitions, LIV Golf uses what is colloquially known as a “Shotgun Start,” in which all of the competitors on the course begin their respective rounds at separate locations.

Due to the lack of a TV rights contract, 2022 LIV Golf Miami will only available to broadcast on the official website of the tour, as well as on DAZN, YouTube, and Facebook.
