Szymon Marciniak was the referee of the FIFA World Cup 2022 Final. He admits that he made a mistake in Argentina’s match over France.
In the additional time of the game, Marcos Acuna committed a foul on Kingsley Coman. The referee stopped the game and showed Acuna a yellow card instead of giving an advantage to France, which he didn’t give. This was the mistake he made and he admits it.
The Ref said,
“Of course, there were mistakes in this final. I interrupted the French counter-attack after a bad tackle by Marcos Acuna”
“You could give an advantage and then come back with a card. It’s hard. In a game like this, I take such a mistake in the dark. The important thing is that there were no big mistakes”
Controversy has risen about Lionel Messi’s second goal in the world cup final, and thousands of France football fans believe that it was not a goal. While Messi scored the goal, there were some substitute players on the field, and fans thought that it shouldn’t be a goal as the players were within the lining during the goal.
The Ref said,
“The French didn’t mention this photo, where you can see how there are seven Frenchmen on the pitch when Mbappé scores a goal,”
