In the match between Manchester City and Liverpool in Carabao Cup, some unwanted incidents happened among the crown, and the Manchester City police has taken charge of the investigation. A disappointing violence occured in the crowd.
Police arrested two persons, who were trying to take pyrotechnics into the stadium, according to the police, a senior citizen was also assaulted. According to the clubs, the incidents were totally unacceptable, and those who are behind this should be punished.
City faced many problems in Anfield. Coins were thrown at the members of their coaching staff. Their bus was also attacked during entering the stadium.
“We are aware of a number of objects, including coins and a smoke bomb, that were thrown during (Thursday’s) match,” GMP’s match commander said. “We will be investigating the incidents and reviewing CCTV from the night.”
This is not the first time that violence is occurring during a football game. City faced the same problems in the Champions League quarter-final of 2018. In 1989, 97 fans died due to the violence that occurred in the crowd.
