Although no foreign coach has ever been appointed as the coach of Brazil, the country’s football policy makers have indicated that they are moving away from that tradition. Pep Guardiola, Zinedine Zidane, Jose Mourinho and several other high profile coaches are being floated in the air.
However, this time Carlos Alberto, a former player of Brazil and Portuguese club Porto, is claiming that the name of Mourinho who is in charge of Serie A and Club Roma as the next coach of Brazil has been somehow matured by the Confederation of Brazil Football. (CBF). Not only that, this Portuguese coach is already looking for his assistant.
Retired from football and now a football pundit, Carlos Alberto spent most of his career in Brazilian league football but spent two seasons at Porto under Mourinho. In that sense, his relationship with this legendary coach is great. He said that Mourinho has already offered him to be his assistant.
There have been several rumors since last month about Mourinho being in charge of AS Roma. His name was also on the list of possible coaches for Ronaldo-Bruno Fernandez after the resignation of Portugal coach Fernando Santos. However, the Portuguese Football Federation has appointed former Belgium coach Roberto Martinez as coach.
