Ozil saw the end of his career after leaving Arsenal and moving to Turkey. Since joining Turkish club Fenerbahce in January 2021, Ozil has played just 36 competitive matches until January 2023. Injuries basically ended his career. And this time, one of the best playmakers in the world is going to say goodbye to football.

Ozil’s team Basakhsehiri lost 1-0 with Kayserispor last Thursday (February 2). Where Ozil went up at the end of the first half. According to Turkish journalist Yakup Chinar, Ozil has informed his teammates about his retirement. The German star played only four matches for Basakhsehiri in the whole season due to injury.

The 34-year-old German midfielder left Fenerbahce and joined another Turkish club Basakhsehiri in 2022. However, Ozil has been able to play only four matches in the last 7 months due to injury. This former Arsenal star did not get any goals for the team in these four matches.

Basakhsehiri coach Ozil was taken off after the first half on Thursday. Then Ozil did not practice with the team on Friday (February 3). It was then that Ozil informed his teammates that he was going to say goodbye to football. Due to which Basakhsehiri is going to finish with Ozil soon.

German midfielder Ozil joined the Spanish giant Real Madrid in 2010 after two German clubs, Schalke and Bremen. He joined Arsenal after spending three great seasons there. Where Ozil spent the best time of his career.
